Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the stream,
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream.
We have all sung and danced to this nursery rhyme at some point of our lives. However, I think there is more than meets the tune of this universal rhyme. I see a powerful meaning behind it. Let me break it down so you see what I mean.
Row, row, row your boat - I think the boat is referring to you and the paddles you use to row your boat is your education. Now, education is branched out into two prongs. Some of us are educated by the vastness and experiences of life, while some are educated by means of qualification. Some are educated through both. What you learn is what helps you move forward along the stream of life. I think the part about rowing your own boat means using these educational prongs to row your boat towards your God given purpose and destiny. Before we were even born, every single one of us had been given a purpose and destiny to fulfill. The question you need to ask yourself is whether you have found this purpose and are you rowing your boat towards your God given destiny. If not life just becomes purposeless and without direction. Only a believe in Jesus can give you this sense of purpose and direction.
Gently down the stream - Do we lead our lives gently, one day at a time? Or are we always in a rush, striving to achieve a goal, success or happiness by constantly working for nothing but money? I would like to say that life is more than just being successful or being goal driven. A gentle spirit and a gentle outlook on life can be achieved when we place our focus on who Jesus is and what is He teaching us on a daily basis.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily - How many of us are actually happy, merry and fulfilled inside? Instead of being merry, we worry most of the time. Fulfillment can only be achieved when there is a personal relationship with a personal God. His name is Jesus! When there is a relationship with the creator you will experience a joy and fulfillment in your life like never before. A Merry life is a life that has Jesus in it! When there is a relationship with God and a purpose as to what you need to do in life, life can be merry! So go and be merry!
Life is but a dream – Why is life a dream? Because we all have dreams that we want to fulfill. A dream that built along side your God given purpose will result in a life that is fruitful and with purpose! So build your dream with the purposes that God has placed in your life and go all the way!
Everything in a nutshell, I think life is supposed to be a simple affair of having a personal relationship with Jesus, finding what your purpose in life is and then fulfilling that purpose without hesitation.
If you're feeling life is stagnant and you are not fulfilled inside, it's high time you ask yourself some very important questions like why do I feel a void in my life? And is it because of this void, I do not feel a sense of purpose in life? And what is the answer to this? As for me, I found the answers in Jesus. I would encourage you to seek Him with all your heart and say these simple words if you would like to..." Jesus, i would like to experience you because I feel a sense of emptiness within me" This words when said from the heart can change your life..
